Went to Seattle with my wife(she's a native)...and ended up taking a drive to Anacortes so she could visit some extended family. It was a charming little place. Friendly people, beautiful landscape. If u go, eat at the Calico Cupboard, you won't regret it. And if you want an inexpensive clean room with excellent service, and a great traditional Dutch breakfast every morning, stay at the Islands Inn.(close to everything)

The Heron House B&B was a really nice house and had a great location. We stayed in the Nautical Room and it had an awesome view. Things ended there however. The toilet didn't work to the point where I had to take the top off and jiggle it each time to get it to flush. There was no room cleaning during the three days we stayed there ...

Charming town. Went whale watching with a company named Island Adventures and it was unbelievable! We saw a pod of 21 orcas, a grey whale, harbor seals, eagles, blue herons...Highly recommend!
