I didn't like Front Royal because there was a lot of history there; however, none of it was open on the day that I went. I went on a week day, the weather was bright and cold, and every single historic museum and place was closed. No reasons given either. This was January and I'd checked out the town online before going, everything should've been open. Ugh.
I love this little town! The canoe capital of the nation has multiple forks of the river -- from fast to slow paced -- you choose. The tiny town itself is historical in resources and offers a free Friday night concert before taking in a movie, old fashioned sundae or bowling.
