  • be careful where you go
    By sisst, 04/27/08
My husband was raised in st george and in 20 years the town is so different. I am from New england and have lived in st george for a few years.
St george is a clear place where the middle class is absent. It is the rich and poor and very little middle.
If you are visiting st george your experince can be 100% different depending on your budget. ...

  • Don't go unless you're Mormon
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/15/07
This was the vacation spot for Brigham Young and company. The Mormon influence is profound. They are very exclusive and don't care to help others become a part of the community. There are very expensive private golf clubs which the Mormons don't usually frequent. But then you get a peculiar kind of clientele who sticks to themselves and ...

  • Don't stop at Flying J in St. George, UT
    By Bonnie, 04/04/06
This is the worst place I have ever seen to get gas. As you leave the interstate they take you in 2 different circles before you get to the Flying J. The signs directing you to the rv pumps is misleading and I seen a accident because they make you take another circle. Then when you finally get to the pump it is so slow. After it has taken you ...

  • ST George, UT not a place to live
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/05
Unless you are a wealthy, white, Mormon married male, you will not succeed and maybe even won't survive in St George, Utah. The people may be very kind and friendly to strangers; but, to their own neighbors who aren't "one of them" they can be the most bigoted, self-righteous hypocrits in the entire world. And if your skin is ...

  • Found a beautiful $79 room.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/05
We stay in St. George often and have always stopped at one of the chains just off the freeway. When we discovered that the Green Gate Village Inn had two rooms available for $79 each (you need to call them direct) we decided to make the switch. Now we always stay at the "Village". My husband and I love the restaurants and activities. ...

    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/05
You can vacation in St George for very little or as much money as you choose, and still have a good time.
The weather is great year round! During the hot summer, the best way to spend your time in the water. There are numerous pools, lakes, and reservoirs surrounding St George.

  • Can't you smell that smell.
    By KatrinaG, 05/10/05
My family and I stopped at the Ramada on our way to vacation in Las Vegas. The Lobby and exterior of this hotel are clean and beautiful. My husband didn't think twice about how pricy it was because going by the lobbies appearance we were going to be in a great room. Hah, There was a distinct smell of urine in our room,I don't know if they ...
