The beaches were Dirty!! There was trash everywhere. Paper plates, paper cups, beer bottles and strips of wood with nails in them. I didn't even sit on the beach. Stayed at the pool. I would not recommend it to anyone.

My family has visited S. Padre Island for vacation for years and we always have a wonder time. This year we went on a jet ski tour with Parrot Eyes Water Sports. Our tour guide named Mike, was rude, rude, rude! Unless your a professional jet skier, don't go out with him. This is my first bad review of anyone, I just don't want anyone else to have a bad experience, go to another business.

South Padre is like the coolest place I have EVER been to! I wish I could go there again! It was the coolest place in the world!

Just spent a week in South Padre Island. What a great place! Everyone is friendly, the prices are reasonable and the weather was great.

Our favorite things were the dolphin watch, a trip to Sea Turtle Inc, and the beaches.
We found a great cafe called Benny's by the Bay. They have wonderful breakfasts and lunches at a reasonable cost. Many great places for dinner Sea Ranch and Scampis were our favorites.

Can't wait to go back.

What I liked:

*We drove there for spring break, that meant no flight & a cheap trip

*We bought a package from a spring break tour company for about $350/person with a condo, meals, and some parties included. That was really reasonable.

South Padre Island has a huge number of things to do. YOu just drive up and down Padre Street and there are tons of restaurants and entertainment activities, not to mention, the beach!! We went to California last year and we went to a beach where the waves were so strong, we couldn't really enjoy the swim and of course I was worried my kids ...

My family and I have traveled to South Padre Island for the past two summers. We stayed in the Florence I condos which are right on the beach. The condos are very clean and has a nice, small pool looking out on the beach. We paid $125 night....a great bargain!!! The sand and water is gorgeous...I couldn't believe we were still in Texas.

South Padre Island is small but there are a lot of hotels and restaurants. The food there compares nothing to mexican food restaurnats here in Miami,FL. The people aren't stuck up but friendly and out going. It's impossible not to have fun there!!! The best is horse back riding on the beach.
