I like the fact that anywhere you go in the town you can find nice people, but there isn't a lot to do. The lake is nice but not when you are our there for a week. Loved Belton Lake, it is beautiful and the history and friendliness of the people. Traveled there from Southern Illinois. Have stayed at the camp grounds and in several local motels and inns. We were always treated by nice and helpful people. We come to visit a group called (Wild Horses) who moved back to Texas 3 yrs ago. But we were so pleased by the welcoming atmosphere we would love to move there.
