We usually do not pick tourist spots or vacation on holiday weeks.Pigeon Forge is a prime example of why. The traffic was beyond horrible. It was canstant and hard to manage up and down the short strip there. We did not go to Dollywood. So we can not comment on that. But there were plenty of gift shops and pancake houses. The attractions were a few ...
We did have a nice campground. It was the Pine Mountain RV Park. In general though we thought that Pigeon Forge was too crowded & the traffic was TERRIBLE on July 4th weekend. It took forever to get anywhere in that town. We went to the Dixie Stampede which was ok but not great. The kids did like Wonder Works. The Elvis Museum was pretty ...

I don't know how this so called resort got a rating above a 1, It shouldn't even be that! You have to mark something on the rating scale it wouldn't let you do a half or none! The people leaving these good remarks must be working for the hotel or just haven't stayed here enough times to get the true opinion of the hotel!! If you ...

The Wedding Bell Chapel-Stoplight 1, Pigeon Forge
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/08
I began planning our wedding 9 months early; like all brides, I put much planning into all of the details. Our ceremony was to be held at 2:30 on Saturday, 4/19/08. We traveled 4 hours from Indiana; with some relatives coming as far as Wyoming. My daughter and a friend wanted to help me get dressed; the female owner of the chapel came into the ...

black bear cabin rentals
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/08
The one we stayed at was dirty. The people who stayed before us smoked and through cig. butts off the balcony which are still there, beer cans stuufed under the floor of bottom level decking, appliances work so so but the real kicker was when we got home they charged me for another hot tube cover. We supposedly broke the cover durning our stay. ...
This place has it all Dollywood and the dixie stampede. There are good food and good deals all over pigeon forge. The cabin we stayed in was so nice.
Now the only bad thing about Pigeon Forge is the traffic. If you are going somewere do it early. We saw 6 car crashes in 4 days. The lights dont help much.
Visitors to Pigeon Forge have the opportunity to enjoy a world class performance by some of the world's to acrobats and gymnists at the Cirque Du Chine. The extravagant costuming and absolutely unbelievable feats of skill, athletic ability, grace and balance are a wonder to behold. To see 12 people riding on a bicycle, or 5 ...
The best part of the trip is the scenic drive in. Once you get within 20 miles of your destination the traffic can become bumper to bumper, particularly on the weekend or a holiday. Sadly, it has become an expensive tourist trap. If you don't have children, you may be able to pick up a nice remote cabin. Plan well in advance and bring your own food or stop at a store about 30 mile out.

Pigeon Forge was Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/08
Our Pigeon Forge was really fun. We went to Dollywood, Cades Cove, and just drove through the Smokey Mountains. The weather was perfect we stayed at the Willow Brook Lodge on Parkway and had a relaxing trip. I recommend visiting Pigeon Forge, especially if your a Dolly Parton fan.
