IOP has pristine beaches, stunning sunsets, and friendly locals. I also enjoyed the scenic intercoastal waterway which hugs the island and is full of wildlife. As for food...I highly recommend the seafood at Morgan Creek Grille which sits on tidal creek. If you can swing a golf club then play a round or two at Wild Dunes. All in all, Isle of Palms is a fantastic vacation!!!

Can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/08
Nice and quite atmosphere;family oriented.Beach is clean and not crowded. Only drawback to Isle of Palms is there aren't many shops if you're into shopping or a big variety of places to eat unless you go over to towards Charleston. But for a nice quite vacation it is perfect. We can't wait to go back and take our duaghters and their families.

We seen a shark!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/07
It was on August 8,2007. We were visiting the beach( Isle of Palms). We went early in the morning. We got to the beach at 8am and at around 9am. My son said mom and dad is that a shark. And before my husband could say no. We turned around and said yes. It was around 3ft or so. It was coming toward my husband and I. Thankfully my son and daughter ...
We just got back from Isle of Palms and I completely DISAGREE with the reviewer above. Just a thought..but you are aware that roaches are as normal in the south as flies are up in the north right? Roaches are everywhere in the south. We went to downtown Charleston at night and saw NUMEROUS roaches in the streets. Thats just how it is down ...

Wild Dunes and IOP Disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/06
Way too much hype around IOP and Wild Dunes. Nothing to do unless you like to drive. Considering the limited restuarants (that includes Domino's Pizza), you better like spending time in your car. The only good restaurants in the area require a 30 minute drive to downtown Charleston.
Our condo at the Wild Dunes resort was nasty. I would ...
Isle of Palms just outside Charleston, SC is one of the top beaches anywhere. Peaceful and still keeping in line with nature you'll find wildlife abundant even though you are part of historic Charleston. The rocketing price of Real Estate is a fortelling of this island's popularity. The subject of best selling novels and on Conde' Nast ...

Beautiful Beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/05
It's a family friendly beach. It's basically right around the corner from where we currently live, so it's very convenient. There's a lot to do there right along the beach - hear live music, eat some ice cream, have dinner and a few drinks. The water is beautiful. I don't like that they started charging for parking, but ...
Isle of Palms beach is a wonderful place to visit anytime of year. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. It’s a great place to swim in the ocean or collect sea shells. It’s a great spot for a weekend getaway or a week of vacationing. The view is spectacular. The construction of the beach homes is impressive. The local restaurants offer ...

Good for day trip during a Charleston vacay or on its own
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/05
IOP (as the isle is commonly known as) is almost like a halfway between a crowded, Myrtle Beach-type beach and a lesser-known, Edisto Beach-type. Being one of the 3 beaches flanking Charleston (the other 2 are Sullivans Island & Folly Beach), IOP is a quick (or not so quick, depending on the traffic) drive on US 17 through Mount Pleasant from ...
