best place in america! people are nice, good food, easy to find place to stay, lots of things to do, and best of all, home of the south carolina gamecocks!!!
I grew up my whole life in between D.C. and Baltimore, then I moved to Columbia. Columbia is awful. The residents for the most part do not know how to drive at all. The lack of SC laws dont require car inspections so you will constantly see cars with brake lights out. If you don't think they are caught up in the Civil War, then why is the ...

i like columbia but it doesnt have the hospitality as mrytle beach, greenville,or other parts of south carolina. its a decent town but if you want a more populated FAMILY friendly environment go somewhere else. i mean if you lisen to the other dork who says sc is in a civil war still dont listen to him. columbia is a good place.

Great College Town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/08
Since I attented the University of South Carolina, I feel like Columbia is a 'home' for me. The four years I spent there were some of the best years of my life. I ate wonderful southern food, met the best southern friends and made many, many memories. Go Gamecocks!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/30/06
I went to the Whig almost every Sunday night for close to 6 months, almost all of the time I lived in Columbia. It is a wonderful establishment, with courteous bartenders and a friendly owner.

You wouldn't want to live here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/06
You wouldn't want to live here unless you're are a native of South Carolina. Who coined the term "southern hospitality" anyway? The south is the least friendly part of the country and in Columbia SC they take that attitude to a whole new level. Columbia should be a really nice place to live. It's a two hour drive to either the ...
about Columbia is The Colubia City Paper. It's freakin hysterical. I also love the five ponts area , and USC is an awesome university.
There's also some amazing southern US architecture and a great sense of history about the town. As a northerner, I have a new found respect for the confederate states after visiting this town.
