A slow quiet town, which will give you nice access to a beach that is not crowded. The town itself is pretty scant as far as things to do go. The tourist train runs only seasonally (May to maybe September). Seaside, Cannon Beach and Tillamook are all within easy driving distance for short day trips. Also lots of nice state parks are nearby. ...

The only thing I can think of that I disliked about Rockaway Beach was that there is some type of weed that grows in the grass by one of the hotels that if you are barefoot, you won't be for long! It stings big time! I am curious as to why property managers are not trying to get rid of it.
