It's so beautiful at the coast. Views, mountains, pines, surfers, fresh air, relentless sea. The town is beyond comfy and cozy. Since there is no real "city" or even nightlife to speak of, it's really more for a day or two. Book by the fire kind of place or a short romantic interlude. Definitely unique.

We visited in late October 2004 for a quick getaway. The beach was spectacular and while the wind was unforgiving it was worth the walk to the haystack rock. The town is precious bordering on touristy but not bad in the off season. Nightlife is pretty minimal but you can find some good conversation in a few pubs or curl up with book, movie, or companion. Great spot for a romantic escape.

We love Cannon Beach because the town feels like a small art community and yet is fresh and modern as any city in the country. It is small and all of the people are very friendly. It is also very clean and colorful.
