Please, do not come to Toledo. Traffic is horrible, people are noisy, lots of crime, and only a museum and some parks to liven the place up. I wish I had never moved here. And it is dirty nasty as the others have mentioned.

Some of the reviews on this site are apalling.

First of all, Toledo is NOT THAT BAD. Toledo is just like almost every other mid-sized industrial city in the midwest...it has been struggling for years with a lot of social and economic problems. In many ways, it has been mis-managed and it has seen a decline.

....Nothing to see here. I've lived here in Toledo, OH for almost all of my 21 years. Like the other reviews have already stated, Toledo is an average to below average city. It has too many people (about 310,000) to be a small town, and it lacks all of the culture, fine restaurants, nightlife, and shopping to be a big city.

Recent business gave me the opportunity to visit Toledo. Our business is advertising and we focus on promoting community business. This required us to research and view the city in a unique light. While it was obvious that Toledo had been suffering from depressive times there is a diamond in there that is being polished. Perhaps Jeeps production plant will help get the area jump started.

Being from a small city in Fl of 36,000 Toledo seems huge to me. I was at first excited about moving to a bigger city, but after moving here, I wish I had stayed in Fl. Toledo is a filthy run down city. People are rude, crime is bad. The city does nothing to clean up the environment or beautify the place. The schools are the worst I've ever seen and there is nothing to do here outside of visting the Zoo.

The Toledo Zoo is the best Zoo I have ever been to. It's clean, set up nice, a good selection of interesting animals and exhibits, and family-friendly activities. I just recently went to the "Lights Before Christmas" display, and it was cool. The only con I would offer is the neighborhood around the Zoo has seen better days, so stay on the main drag.
