This is a cool art community. I love the gallery's, coffee shops and the fact that the Cuyahoga River runs through the middle of town. There are free events all during the year in Kent's beautiful downtown. Kent has a marvelous small art organization Standing Rock Cultural Arts that has a quaint gallery in the downtown and wonderful programs for the whole family. It is a safe place to live and has great schools.

Pros: Friendly people, nice atmosphere, good food
Cons: Snow in April, need a rental car to get around town

I love Kent. I graduated from the university and moved back here some years ago to raise my family. It has excellent schools, and is a very safe, neighborly place to live. I've lived in Miami, Los Angeles, and Cleveland, and frankly, I prefer this little small town to all of those. Go, Kent!

you can't help but love Kent, Ohio...it revoles around the university but you still feel safe walking around Kent. Alot of coffee cafe musicians started in Kent and it has retained it's down to earth nature!
