Akron is a great place to live. It is the perfect sized city- not too big, not too small. I live in Highland Square and couldn't be happier. Love visiting the zoo, downtown, the northside district, Aeros and Zips games. There is so much to do for a city of its size.

Loved it, the people were real not like the east or west coast. This is the birth place of AA. There are alot of related spots to experience. The parks were beautiful and peaceful. Hotels were priced in line with service and comfort. The food was reasonably priced and waitor/ress we pleasant and attentive.

I live in Akron, and as a local in Akron I feel Akron can be very fun. It all depends on the time of year you come, and the weather (snow or sun). The city has been sinking alot of money into downtown, they have really made alot of improvements, and cleaned up the city alot. They have built new parks (and dog parks for dog lovers) They have built ...

Great University
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/06
I love the University of Akron. Go Zips. Go to the basketball games this year. The Zips are really good. I watched them whoop Toledo. Akron's a lot cleaner than Cleveland, Detroit, and Toledo.
Things you'll enjoy in akron. -University of Akron sporting events. (MAC Champions in football, soccer, and cross country. The basketball team is headed towards the NCAA tournament.) -The best night life in Northeast Ohio. -Akron Aeroes baseball team at Canal Park. -Chapil Hill Mall and Summit Mall for shopping. -Great places to eat, ...

I was so suprised by how dirty this place was. There was some cool historical stuff though, however, that was about it. No nightlife, no shopping, and crime looked bad.
I've lived in Akron most of my life. I went to school at U of Akron met my wife there, and made a lot of friends in Akron.
Overall the people are nice in Akron, culture-wise it is no Cleveland, put sort of plays itself out to be a "poor man's Cleveland" . It has the Akron Aeros baseball team in a wonderful downtown ...

The city of Akron, Ohio is a family oriented town. The city sponsors First Night every New Years Eve. It is a non-alcohol way to ring in the new year with your family. They have many activities for kids of all ages. Feel like taking in a minor league baseball game? Stop in and check out the local Akron Aeros. The town is full of great ...
Akron, Ohio is a great place for history buffs. You have the beautifully restored Civic Theatre downtown, the homes of the Rubber Barons on Portage Path and Merriman, the home Thomas Edison was married in, old churches, the canal, and too much to list!
What i dislike about all this history, is that you have to find most of it on your own. ...
