This is the place I went to for groceries and supplies and shopping and to work growing up in a nearby community. It has what you need. Would be a great place to stop on your long trip through on I-94 to rest and eat dinner. The landscape is not favorable for many but keep driving to Medora to the West or Bismarck to the East and you will see something entirely different that you may love.
The Hartfiel Inn is a beautiful, affordable, and comfortable place to stay in Dickinson. While you're there, take a day trip west to the Badlands to see colorful hills and gorges, and perhaps the outdoor theater in Medora, or south towards Hettinger, to see the landscape of Louis LaMour novels.

Town survives Mid-West Sterotype
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/04
Lovely town. Alot of friendly people. I would recommend everyone visiting Dickinson. The town had some unique restaurants like the China Doll Restaurant. It was odd, I, like most people did not want to eat at a restaurant that was so different, but in the end it reminded me of the great restaurants that I ate at in San Francisco.
