The beach is great, of course, but the downtown is really unreal. It is hard to explain, it just has a feeling. The huge trees, and huger houses, lots of people everywhere and not just a bunch of bars downtown like a lot of cities, actual shopping and dining. also the trolley is free, and so is parking in the parking decks.

oh the joys of the river walk with folks all relaxed and happy..where to stay at a big hotel bed and breakfast or by the sea? Where to have dinner...on a deck overlooking the river , a sidewalk cafe or a great seafood restaurant with secret sauces? Yum I would shop all day and enjoy the life of Wilmington in summer

This is definitely a great place to hang out, especially for those who are younger. I found Wilimington to be quite charming.
People are friendly. There is a lot of history.
Prices are reasonable.
The only problem I had with the area was the traffic.

I recently went to wilimngton for a weekend with my bestfriend kionna. We had a great time. The beaches there are goregous and if youl ike a quite country atomsphere you will love this place. I recommend it for anyone who is looking to save a piece of their mind from a storm. For shoppers it has a great mall. the first place I have been outside of cali where there is a forver 21 store. females know about that store.(smile)
