We drove in from Ohio to spend a week in Maggie Valley to look at the leaves and potentially a place to retire. Our motel reservation was for a week but after three days and two nights we canceled and spent the rest of our time in Asheville about 40 minutes to the East.
Outside of a couple miniature golf places there isn't much to do here. ...

I'll definitely be back!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/07
Went in the winter (2006)between Christmas & New Year--even in winter, with no color or leaves on the trees, the town was very nice and scenic. It is a cozy little town nestled in the beginnings of the Smokey Mountains. Went to Cataloochee Ski Area--it was very crowded but pretty well maintained.
Really looking forward to going back to ski and then again in warmer weather.
Maggie Valley is a small town with beautiful views, a few restaurants, and almost no attractions. We were very disappointed with it. It is not a good place for kids. Everything is overpriced from hotel stay to souvenirs. Most hotels and restaurants looked old and outdated. We went to a few shops that said 'open' but were closed. There's ...

WOW! It is so heavenly.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/05
We liked the view from the motel. The people were so friendly. Felt like the old home place. Loved the little stores to browse around in. This is definetly a place you could share with your faimily and grand children. We have recommended it to alot of folks if they ever get up that way.
The drive up that way is so awesome with every little twist and turn there was something always amazing. A great place for sight seers.

We LOVE Maggie Valley!
We have been coming to the valley for 12 years. Our kids take their families now.
I do believe it's one of the prettiest places in the entire region. The people are so friendly, the weather is perfect and the views are spectacular.
Maggie Valley is a great place to vacation. It is centrally located to everything. The scenery is breath taking. We traveled there in December 04 and are going back July 05. My favorite place to eat was Arf's. Beautiful setting, great people, scrumptious food and reasonable prices. J. Arthurs was to expensive but food was good. 441 to ...

Biker spot..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/05
We stayed at the Maggie Valley Creekside Lodge that is a favorite spot for bikers. Everynight we were awaken by drunk loud bikers. The town has a lot of small shops fill we mostly over priced crafts. We ate a Snappy's Italian Resturant-over priced food that is no better than a TV dinner. We also ate a Guayabitos Mexican Resturant-all the food ...

Creek side relaxation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/05
Several years ago, we visited North Carolina. Tired from driving all day, we stopped at one of the few hotels with a vacancy sign, the Valley Inn on Johnathan Creek.
As of now, this has probably been one of my favorite places to have stayed and if ever given the opportunity to do so, I will stay here again. The Valley Inn was wonderful. ...
