i didn't like how the housekeeper on the back of the 12th floor cleaned my room while she was on the phone.the whole time she cleaned my room she was on the phone and never hung up i think that was really disrespectful and forgot to change my sheets after i asked her to i guess she was too busy on the phone to remember.

The Ra Cha Cha

First, let me say that i have lived in rochester all of my life. i am 20 something now, and i could never imagine leaving. rochester has a lot of culture and history here. susan b anthony house, george eastman house, strong museum, Kodak, and so so much more. If you are into clubs and night life to that effect -- you may be limited, but for the ...

Charming city with lots to do!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/08/08
Me and my wife loved Rochester. It has a unique charm that sets it apart from all other upstate cities. The food and nightlife scene were awesome! It is very clean and the people were all so nice to us! We will defanitely be coming back soon! I dont get how other people wrote bad things about it on here, they must have grown up there and now have a distaste for it. WE HIGHLY RECOMEND ROCHESTER!

Just Keep Driving Thru Upstate NY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/08
I lived in Rochester for one year and was happy to leave. The best thing about Rochester was Pittsford area and Henrietta. Downtown - there is nothing except a waterfall. Barely any bars or places to eat. IDowntown has a lot of crime and is not safe at night. It is like the rest of the upstate cities in NY - a dump that needs help. The best thing about upstate NY is the Finger Lakes, Adirondacks, Letchworth, Niagara (on Canada's side).

The Best Small City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/06
I have been to many cities and none are like Rochester, NY. For a small city it is much cleaner, and has more history than surrounding cities like Buffalo and Syracuse. Rochester was the home to the founder of Kodak, George Eastman, and Kodak to this day has some of it plants still in Rochester. Rochester was also the home to Susan B. Anthony and ...
Non-Upstaters shudder when you mention places like Buffalo or Syracuse, because of either their awful winter weather or their very bleak economic prospects. However between those two decaying cities is one that is quite different: Rochester.
Rochester still gets the snow, but its culture is much different. For a city of its size there is a great ...

Unfriendly and boring
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/06
One should not confuse the city of Rochester with the surrounding area. The actually city of Rochester is a depressing, dirty and squalid place with very little to offer. Nightlife is limited unless you want to go barhopping and sit among the miserable locals and be ignored (having a conversation that lasts more than two sentences is a rarity). Avoid the months from Oct to May unless you want the weather to match the coldness of the people.

I'm moving back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/25/05
I like pretty much everything about this misunderstood and underrated city set on the breathtaking Genesee River vally/finger lakes/lake ontario landsacpe. The history is amazing. George Eastman (Founder of Kodak, which is headquartered in Rochester), Susan B. Anthony, and Frederick Douglas all called Rochester home. The Corn Hill neighborhood will ...
