I love Old Forge, NY! but not The FORGE MOTEL....There is nothing worse than something BIG ruining your vacation. The Forge Motel almost did just that. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THESE PEOPLE COME FROM THAT WROTE THE GOOD REVIEWS (apparently they have never stayed in a normal motel/hotel)....I went with my son, my best friend and her five kids. Old Forge RocksMy family has been to Old Forge four times. Everytime we go we find new things to do. We love the mountain air and atmosphere of the town. Old Forge is not a big town, but it has a lot of offer. The shops and restaurants are great. The trails for hiking are amoung the best I have every hiked.
I know that my family will continue to go to Old Forge.OVERALL

could be so much morethe thing i don't understand about this place is that it has such great potential...but falls flat on its face. this place could be world class........buts its a very tired hotel. how 'bout coming back to a partially made bed.......cleaning supplies still in the bathroom...and a filthy rug.the furniture is old and dirty. you would think ...1 of 1 Yahoo!
