Ithaca has everything! Cornell University, Ithaca College, theaters, state parks and shopping! I love it here!
We stayed at the Super 8, but even that isn't your average Super 8. It looks expensive. Wegmans grocery store (that is more like a shopping mall!) was right next door and open 24/7.

I love Ithaca NY because its naturaly beautiful, and it's great place to raise your kids. The people here are nice, quick to pardon, conversate with you, and smile. Wonderful colleges.. Cornell, and Ithaca College. Not to mention all the Gorges waterfalls in the area. Here a list of the ones I know and visited.

Went to school in Ithaca and loved every minute of it.It has been 10 years and I find myself back there 2-3 times a year. It's a little hard to get to but well worth it. The small city atmosphere combined with the state parks and nature make this an ideal place to be. It's fairly cheap compared to other parts of the Northeast.

Besides having more than enough state parks to visit, I'd have to say you must visit the six mile nature preserve. It is beautiful. Within the six miles, there are many trails and many swimming holes to cool yourself off in. Or many stops along the way to skip ...
