Having been born and raised in Buffalo, at age 22 I had an itch to get outta there. Im pretty sure everyone does. Its been over 4 years now, in CA, WI, and NC and there is no place fonder, no place closer to my heart. When asked my ideal vactaion destination, I always will reply BUFFALO! (that is until I move home). The food is amazing, the drinks, ...

  • Don't Believe What you Hear
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/08
A city with a soul, unlike the sun belt cities filled with one Super Wal Mart after another. Mom & Pop businesses rule the roost here, where you can get some of the best food in the country. Stunned by the architectual beauty in the buildings built when detail meant something. (City Hall is an amazing example of detail of the highest ...

  • Buffalonian for Life, this place has got it all - the best place to live, work, play, eat, and so much more.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/20/08
I've been a Buffalonian for life, and nothing can get in the way of me moving someplace else. Let me tell you, this place has got it all, sure there are some flaws and problems, but recently the city is experiencing a time of growht for the first time in decades. This is fantastic as many people are finding out that this place isn't so bad ...

  • Best Bang for Your Buck
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/09/07
Buffalo is one of the nicest places in America you will find, even looking from an objective POV. Growing up there I always wanted to move out, as most kids are raised to do. Yet after being away from home for almost 4 years, living in the south, west, and now NYC, I cannot wait to head back. Why? Most of the country thinks of the city as a ...

  • New York's best kept secret
    By JessicaT, 11/29/07
Growing up just outside NYC I had never even heard of Buffalo. I came here for school 3 years ago and fell in love with this city. The architecture is simply breathtaking and although it doesn't get much attention like NYC does, it's an amazing and affordable city to live and visit. Downtown is definetly on it's first upswing probably ...

  • border hopper
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/07
As a canadian growing up just a half an hour away across the border I have always liked Buffalo. No stuck up attitude. The best radio station (97 rock) and a great come as you are party town. Loyal sports fans, great food and hidden architectural treasures. More Canadians should by-pass the suburban shopping and discover the classic downtown buildings and vintage neighbourhoods (e.g. Elmwood strip and Allentown)

  • Buffalo Has Heart
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/07
I've always had a fondness for Buffalo. It's an honest to goodness hard working town with friendly people and major league attractions. As a traveller, I like to visit the entire city, not just the main stuff. And Buffalo has some excellent neighbourhoods, old and fascinating areas, dumpy areas, rich areas, and everything in between.

Folks here are real. You can't help but love the place.

  • Good place to be from: Far from!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/11/07
I grew up here. After 20-plus years, I was fortunate to be able to 'escape.'
In its heydey, Buffalo was a thriving city with lots of progressive businesses, jobs, culture, old-world-charm, and great food.
The only thing remaining is the great food.
Look closely, and you can see remnants and traces of what used to be.
