The thousand islands have beautiful picturesque places. Alexandra bay is a disappointing place to stay and eat. It is a run down place with few places to eat or stay except Riveredge resort. Nice friendly atmosphere. Too pricey!!!
Too many of the motels are charging more than the area can afford. Charge less and fill up the rooms.
Beach has not been cleaned. They are letting the Canadian geese take over and ruin it. Send them back over the border and take back your beach. The kids would have loved to use it.
We love the place - just can't afford it!!!

Alexandria Bay is a nice little vacation spot. There seems to be lots to do. We went on a boat tour and visited Boldt Castle. (lovely!), went golfing (seems to be lots of courses in the area), and mostly just relaxed. There were some neat little gift shops downtown and a great ice cream shop that was inside a candy store that sold homeade fudge! ...

The view from our room was absolutely to die for. The food was excellent, however, if you get motion sickness you may not want to dine in the floating restaurant. Staff was pleasant. Will definitely go back next year!!!
