I've been to Spring Lake, NJ about three times in the last 2 years. It is definitely worth a visit. It is not over-developed (business) or resort like. There are mostly million-dollar homes facing the ocean. There are several bed-and-breakfasts in the area. The water is clean. They have a quaint little town...very nice for shopping. If you want a laid-back, relaxing day at the beach, this one's it!
