I haven't been to Montana in a while but when I was 10 years old me and my family went on a 3 week long road trip to Montana.I love it so much.It was a gorgeous place,so many activities. We went white water rafting even though it was Septemeber and freezing cold!We stayed in the most amazing hotel(though I can't seem to remember the name)But it had everything. Its a great family place and we all enjoyed it.You should go!

A Great Gateway to Yellowstone National Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/07
My husband and I, along with two friends, went snowmobiling in Yellowstone for two days. We had a great time. West Yellowstone is a terrific gateway to the Park. The food in town is pretty iffy, though a good breakfast isn't hard to find, but there's lots of places to shop for momentos, a nifty IMAX theatre, and nice, affordable motels. We had a memorable experience, and will probably do it again next year.

Great Town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/13/07
Great Quite Town in the Winter and in the Summer. I must see place. Nice launching point into Yellowstone park.
I suggest cross country skiing into the park with a guided service.
This is a real nice little place to stay. The check-in people were very nice. We had to cancel our second night there at the last minute because of possible snow, and they said it was not a problem. They didn't even charge a cancellation fee. The room was clean and well stocked. We had a refridgerator and microwave in our room. We also had a ...

Kirkwood Resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/06
We had the misfortune of staying at Kirkwood Resort. The tent site area was actually a field with no picnic tables and no fire pits. The womens bathroom was full of cobwebs and bugs. The sink leaked so there was water in puddles on the floor. They had showers with cement floors and more bugs. Situated right off the highway, just terrible. If you ...
West Yellowstone Montana is a great place to use as a base if you visit Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It is much less expensive then inside the park, and definately far less expensive then Jackson, WY to the south of the Tetons. However their is a cost for the price, the ambience. It is not near as upscale as Jackson. It has the look of a ...

Could not drive into the Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/06
We visited West Yellowstone this winter and had not done our 'home work'. We found (after we got there) that you can not DRIVE into the Park from that entrance in the winter. Only the NORTH entrance (at Gardiner, MT) is open to vehicle traffic in the winter. We stayed at West for a day (enjoyed it) and then traveled over to the Paradise ...
The town was very economical. No tourist traps to speak of. Good variety of food. Great place to go snowmobiling during the witner months. I am sure the summer is just as nice. Recommend the Days Inn. Do not recommend the Holiday Inn. Plenty of other choices too.
There is something for everyone at this campground! Not only is it clean and friendly, it's also safe from bears! Their staff is friendly! The showers and bathrooms are very comfortable. An indoor pool and jacquizzi is wonderful after a full day of Yellowstone. If you are too tired to work, they'll cook you up some breakfast or ...
West yellowstone now for a quite small town this is it!it's very busy in the summer and winter but in between get ready for quite living the elk walk through town and no one cares nice place to write a book or just be still.
