Living close it is even funI have some inside scoop for the out-of towners. The Vinyard is one of our favorites, and the deserts, coffee, and sandwiches at Cafe Julia are to die for. I have driven a long way for a cool one on the deck of the Idler, (once the roudy crowd is not there) but the crowd is very "Jimmy Buffet". Beautiful and FunWhen researching lower Michigan I had the least amount of interest in South Haven but after visiting it was my favorite when compared to St. Joseph and Holland. I really felt we were on vacation. The down town was large and very attractive. A Wonderful Resort Town on Lake Michigan!I remember when we went "up north" to find the perfect beaches and vacation towns. Now there is this adorable lakefront community just a few quick hours out of Chicago, ready and willing to roll out the red carpet to those of us wishing for a relaxing and fun time in a lazy beachfront town. SH is awesome.The thing I love most about South Haven is the people. Everywhere you go the people are kind. On time i got lost on my way to south beach and i asked a passerby the direction. He told me exactly where to go. We was so clear and helpful.

my favorite getawayOur family loves South Haven! Quaint, Charming , and Clean. Best place to start family traditions. We fill our weekend with picking blueberries, swimming at the beach, dinner at Clementines, Sherman's Ice Cream, watching the sunset, waving to the boaters, and shopping. The Best Resort Town on Lake MichiganSouth Haven is a charming harbor town with a gorgeous riverwalk, scenic lighthouse and pier, cute shops and
the sunsets over sandy beach at Lake Michigan. Skip the hotels on the Walmart tarmac and head down to the North Beach and choose one of several great B&Bs. Make sure you catch dinner at Tellos Italian Bistro...wow! This is a much more friendly town than New Buffalo or Saugatuck....quieter too. I love South Haven!24 of 24 Yahoo!
