I am from the area and moved away about 42 years ago...We just love Grand Haven and go back about every year. We love the Pronto Pup stand and Fricano's, they are the best. We also love the beaches, we live in Tennessee now and there are no beaches to compare to them. Everything about Grand Haven and Spring Lake are just the best.

I really enjoyed the beach, plus there are miles and miles of bike paths to walk or ride. Everything in centrally located. I especially loved the food at JW's - a little restaurant on the corner of 7th street and the main downtown drag - Washington street. Head there for some rad steak and some cheap - but quality wine. Mostly "regulars" they will point out what's interesting to do there....

Living much of my life around Lake Michigan, I have often taken it for granted. Many will talk about the ocean, but few talk about the lakes. I do not care for fishing, but it is a fishing paradise with over 40 species of fish, many lakes, rivers, and streams. Michigan is a beautiful place; Grand Haven is small and cozy. One does not have to go far ...

Grand Haven is one of the best places I have vacationed. It's a tourist city with lots to do. Their beaches are among the top activites. But the area is beautiful and well maintained. It's a smaller city so you don't have a lot of heavy traffic and you can get away and relax. Beautiful in the summer and in autumn.

Grand Haven is a great day trip from Grand Rapids. A wonderful boating community - the downtown area can be confusing with the one way streets - but overall ok to find your way around. Nice restaurants, good food. The beach is very nice - great family destination.

Grand Haven Michigan is amazing! Unlike other larger cities near Lake Michigan (such as nearby Muskegon and Holland), Grand Haven is located right on the waterfront of Lake Michigan and the Grand River. It's just a beautiful place to visit, and live! I moved here from the East Coast about 5 years ago and couldn't be happier. The winters are a bit long, but the summers are perfect. Our beaches in Grand Haven are some of the most beautiful beaches you've seen in the continental U.S., and the people are some of the nicest you've met, as well!
