Tidal pools! For a midwesterner the experience of a long walk to a beach, enjoying the ocean, and then seeing that the walk back will be even longer because the ocean has covered the 'as the crow flies' path is really phenomenal!

  • What A Wonderful Vacation Destination
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/28/08
Provincetown was it for us. The town was just so beautiful and small. Maybe it became magical with our lodging, the harbor views and warm ocean breeze swept over us as we checked in. We relaxed from the moment we arrived. After our first full day, we watched a full moon rise over the harbor from the privacy of our room, from our own beachfront deck ...

  • A Unique Place
    By willtrammell, 01/22/07
Provincetown is a wonderful place to relax and get away from it all. The tolerant live and let live atmosphere makes for a uniqueness that is hard to come by. I love the great shops, wonderful restaurants if a bit pricey, casual beaches, and interesting accommodations.

  • Beach bummer
    By married_2_a_brit, 01/10/07
We went on a family day of vacation and won't go back. The town is too small for the amount of people that are crowding the streets in the late summer. There is a diverse mix of loud and boisterous people within every direction and the drive is over 2 hours from the next city/attraction. There are a lot of little shops with repetitive jewelry, ...

  • ecclectic mix
Provincetown has quite an ecclectic mix of people. Went overnight and stayed at Surfside hotel which was a great choice. Clean, somewhat updated decor, convenient location, pool, and some rooms are right on the beach.Dinner was great at The Mews if you like upscale contemporary dining, you have to go there. It was great, right in the heart of ...

Love this place. Great coastal town with great food and a lot to do. The nightlife is a lot of fun and the beaches are beautiful. Everyone is very nice and the atmosphere is very laid back and casual.

I love the freedom we feel to wear what we want, hold hands if we want, and just BE who we are in Provincetown!
We always enjoy walking up and down Commercial Street. Visiting the Photo and Art Galleries is a highlight for us. The Jewelry Stores are awesome, our favorite is Tumbleweeds, with unusual & beautiful rings and more.

  • Small Crowd
    By d17n, 06/02/05
Provincetown is such a quiet, quaint place to relax. A walk on the beach with your lover, family, and friends is the greatest. We took the "Art's Dune Tours" ride. Highly recommended. It takes about one hour and is very educational. All the natural nature in this area is unbelievable.

During this time of the year the crowds are ...
