    By jbc3clan, 09/08/08
Capt Bill & Sons offers a wonderful excursion out of Gloucester. Your guide is a researcher with The Whale Center who narrates the trip and helps you understand what you're seeing and helps guide you where to look. You'll get some background on Gloucester as you leave the harbor past the three lighthouses, and you'll have about a ...

  • Seven Seas Whale Watch
    By Frank & Dee, 08/28/08
Our first time on a whale watch and this was the highlight of our trip to Gloucester.
Total trip about 4 hours, includes about 1 hour out to the feeding grounds. We saw 6 humpbacks in 3 different groups and activities. Feeding, breeching, tail and fin flapping. An outstanding and magnificent thing to see.
Seven Seas has a big, fast and comfortable ...

  • Cape Ann Whale Watch
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/08
We went to Cape Ann Whale Watch in Gloucester, MA in June 2008. It was great. The staff took us out to see Minke, Finback, and Humpback. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. The boat was large and comfortable. I would choose this again!

  • A diamond in the rough
    By prof.grey, 07/10/07
Gloucester like most places has it's run down sections but turn the corner and mansions sprawl out along the oceans edge. There are always great places to eat and wonderful things to explore, i.e. Hammond Castle, Campgrounds, etc. . . The history of this quaint New England fishing town is what this country is founded on, hard work and families. ...

  • Outstanding!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/07/06
Gloucester is a fabulous place to be in at any point during the year. The first time I went there was in 1999 to go whale watching. I found Gloucester to be an incredible destination full of life and rich in history. The beaches are beautiful and quiet so you can enjoy the serenity that new england offers. Then you can go whale watching and enjoy ...

  • Keeps Getting Better
    By aluther228, 03/12/06
I have been going to Gloucester every year for 20 years! Each time I visit it gets better and better. Some may think that it would get boring after a few years - but they are wrong! Gloucester has so much to offer from lazy days on the beach to hiking to fishing to just admiring the land itself. I highly recommend Gloucester as not only a family ...

  • I'd love to retire in Gloucester, Mass.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/17/06
I have been to Gloucester 4 times in the last 3 years. The first time I went I felt like I was "home" -- which seems crazy since I had never been there before. I went by myself which was great cause I met a lot of really nice people...I have usually gone in September or October and love the cold weather. I went whale watching, but ...

  • First trip to New England area
    By evelynbrouse, 06/07/05
We went to Gloucester on our way to Bar Harbour Maine. We stayed for two days and were so refreshed we thought we had been there for a week. This was in 2002 after the 9/11 ordeal. We are going back for our 2005 vacation/25th wedding anniversary. My husband offered to take me on a cruise but I wanted to go back to Gloucester instead. It is the best vacation spot without the loud hustle and bustle of a beach and boardwalk.

  • Great Place!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/27/05
We visited Gloucester last October and it was great! It was extremely COLD that day, but our visit was perfect any way. I would recommend the coast of MA. to anyone seaking a great, historical family vacation. Go in the fall and you will not believe the colors!
