Chicopee has lovely schools and conveniant locations of shopping, food etc. But I would not recomend it as a place to go on vacation or travel to. It seems there is a relatively high level of gang activity/crime but its not the worst by any means that you'll find. Its just average on all levels with absolutely nothing that would set it apart ...

The city is pretty typical of old mill cities in New England. The roads were built when only a horse & carrage had to get through, with a lot of streets taking you in circles. You need to circumvent areas to get to what you can see is only a short distance away. (East St - Broadway - Main Street area in particular)
