We visited that area in the late fall of 1999. We stopped in Bucksport to get pictures of the " Witch's Leg" in the cemetary. Got good pictures, many, but when they were later developed, of the many pictures we had taken, all were returned except those of the witch, not a single one, no negatives, no explanation, nothing. I suppose ...
Bucksport is the sea port at the top of the Penobscot bay, but is the gateway to both the Blue Hill Peninsula and Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island. We stayed near Blue Hill in Heron Cove Cottage and plan to go back this fall. We've heard that September and early October are beautiful and less crowded.
