in the metro area there are different experiances not just east or westside of town good mixture of cultures. Great mexican food. i dont know what people are trying to accomplish in this town but i like the city for what it is nothing more or nothing less
I've lived in Wichita my whole life and well honestly, if not the kind of place to Vacation. It is excellent living though. Housing is rather cheap, most things are actrually considerably cheap. Wichita is probably one of the safest "cities" to live in. But back to the point of Vacationing. I highly not reccomend it. We do have SOME ...

Are you nuts?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/06
You are nuts when you say Wichita has nothing to offer. I live in Wichita and my only problem is finding the time to take advantage of all the wonderful things that take place here. Let me list some:
World Class Broadway Theatre (Music Theater of Wichita)
Dinner Theatre (Mosley Street Melodrama, Crown Uptown, Yellow Rose Chuckwagon, Cabaret ...
I'm originally from Washington D.C. and got stationed in Wichita Kansas in 1994. It was a culture shock and very hard to get used to at first. I was more accustomed to a bigger city environment and Wichita is more like a big suburb. To live in, Wichita is fairly conquerable; housing is inexpensive, the cost of living isn't too bad ...

Wouldn't vacation here...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/06
Wichita is a "nice little town" and I visit quite often because of family but I wouldn't ever choose this destination for my vacation. If you did you would be highly disappointed unless you come from some rinky dink little cowtown. Wichita can offer enough for a long weekend (Botanica, Art Museum, Zoo) but doesn't have the ...

If you like the bland

There is nothing wrong with Wichita, although there is nothing really right either. It is not in the calibur of the other great Midwestern cities such as KC, St. Louis, or Chicago, although to it's credit, it really doesn't try to be. It is sort of an oasis in the middle of nothing. Good people, clean city, but not exacly a cosmopolitan ...
I am an outdoor person, and Wichita is just not the best place to experience the outdoors! 10 hrs. from ocean or mountains, and the summers are hot and the winters are cold.
Friendly people, easy to get around! Shopping, east, south, north, and west! Resturants pop up every month. Never a dull place to eat. Riverfestival for 10 days anually brings the commuinty and outsiders together. Not expensive, lots todo. Night life is exciting. Old town is for everyone. Lots of bars and clubs together in walking distance. People of all ages welcome!

It's all about Wichita!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
I'm from Kansas and the city of Wichita is the largest city in Kansas. It is the city with the most shopping malls, restaurants, tourist attractions, education facilities and night-life entertainment venues. Old town (downtown Wichita) is a beautiful sight at night and there are always people walking around that area. In old town, the ...

Friendliest People Around In the Air Capital City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
I love Wichita. I was born and raised here. I have been to other places and briefly lived in a couple of other states but something always brings me back to wichita. I love the things Wichita is doing, like building a new arena. We have great concerts, great food and most of all just great people. There is the Wichita River Festival every year ...
