loved that there is so manys little shops downtown each had there own very unique items a lot more inside these stores than i would have thought of from just an outside glance. i was only there visiting my friend at the pet shop, im from california we would have to had to go much farther to find all these different items at home. here there right on the same few streets.

took 3 grandchildren and had a great time, we took the train ride and stagecoach ride and the kids learned a lot at the telephone museum and about how people lived in the old days in old abilene. all in all it was a great day and we finished it at the russel stover factory. can't wait to go back in october. the kids even liked the eisenhower museum and want to go back.

That town has a lot of potential. It's stagnant and dying. Full of snobbery and no real sense of pride. Certainly not the town Eisenhower so lovingly described even into old age.
