I have lived here a year while attending the University and love it. Downtown is an accessible, multi-cultural area filled with great places to find yourself. The Northside area (where I live) is even more lovely with Oasis, The Felafel Joint, an affordable and addictingly healthy place to eat with Northside Books, a used-book store, right across ...

Home Sweet Home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/06
I really miss my home state of Iowa. The people are friendly, the schools are great, and anyone who wants a job can find one. Shopping here is awesome because prices are good. If you love shopping go to the Coral Ridge Mall, which also has a movie theater and ice skating rink(if your there stop at the Bennigans because the service is very friendly ...

We (my husband and I) love IC. Currently we live in SF and are moving to be part of one of the best places to live in the US. One of the best school districts, best Universities, and most educated population in the nation. IC rocks!! Go Hawkeyes!!!!

Iowa City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/05
The University of Iowa is in Iowa City. Home of the Hawkeyes. Near the old capitol is a museum. They have a dodo bird, which is an odd looking creature. It's also extinct. Apparently not too bright. Hence the name.

Iowa City is a great place to visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/18/05
Iowa City is a great place for anyone of any age to visit. Along with having a lot of entertainment and sporting events, there is a lot of history in Iowa City. There is a lot to do like bars, nightclubs, restaurants, sporting events, along with family activities like seeing tourist attractions like the old capital, University sponsored events, and the beauty of the city. I would defiantly recommend visiting Iowa City.

come to iowa and share the experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/05
2 years ago, I came to Ames to go to school, and I was amazed by the kindness of the population of Iowa, their availability to help, the quietness of its streets and neighborhoods, and how safe I felt walking around. Iowa is the kind of place where you move for a month but end up staying for ever In reality, I did not move to Iowa to stay until I ...

The Bars!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/05
I love Iowa City because of the night life it has for students. There are many bars that you can go to and enjoy when you are just 19. There is also a really good mall in Corralville with a lot of stores that are popular. I also like it because it is very close to home for me, so only a short trip up for the night. I also like the history that is in Iowa City as well. The only thing I would have against it is that its the Hawkeyes, GO STATE!
