Cedar Rapids is full of parks, everywhere you turn you will find one. They are kept up very well and typically each one has flower gardens and something unique to set that park aside from others in the area My favorites lay somewhat a little ways outside of this town like Palisades Keppler (e. on 30 going towards Mt. Vernon) This is a great place ...

Miss it!!

I moved to Cedar Rapids right out of college and loved it! It's not a metropolis like LA, Chicago etc. It's not a 3,000 people town. Cedar Rapids was the perfect size at around 120,000 people. That was is 1996. It's 10 years later and now I want to move back because of the awesome homes and people. I am moving from KC. (That ...
To start with, I live here (moving from Chicago, IL) and I love my city. Is it without faults? Of course not. However, it most certainly is not a city with "two rows of corn and a highway down the middle." (not sure what city the reviewer was in, but it was not CR).
Is it a city where a family would plan an entire vacation? I doubt ...

The best day ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/01/05
WE were at Planet X and it was so cool. The service was great and the games and the pizza was even better. If you wanted to have fun I'd go with Planet X!
Two rows of corn with a highway through them,if you want the real "American Gothic" experience, this is for you. Stoic people and miles and miles of corn. Corn everywhere !

Wow!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/05
Actually I was driving through the city late at night on my way to Wisconsin and I got lost looking for a hotel. Stopped at a 7-11 store and a city police officer led me to the hotel...he was very nice! At the hotel, the guy knew sign language as his parents are deaf which made my evening as I am deaf myself. Communication was smooth. I'd move here!

A Fantastic American City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/05
Cedar Rapids is a wonderful mid-sized city in the Midwest, with extremely kind, polite residents and a variety of activities. With two shopping malls, several theaters, a bussling downtown district, and several sports teams Cedar Rapids is a wonderful place to vist, and I'm sure to live!
Cedar rapids always seems to have little festivals going on that everybody can enjoy. although it seems that you have to drive back and forth from one side of town to the other to get the full experience, and with gas prices that makes it hard, the overall experience was great.

Czech Village Review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/05
The Czech Village is an excellent opportunity to explore Cedar Rapids and better understand the Czech culture. This is located in the heart of Cedar Rapids and is very fun and interesting to stroll through. The streets and the many shops are unique and educational, while at the same time extremely fun. This would be a great attraction for not only families, but also college students and retired persons. Please enjoy the Czech Village.
