The best part of being in Ames is the educational opportunities for wanna be academicians. Its safe and has a calm atmosphere. On the other hand the down side of Ames is it tends to get boring once in a while and not much to entertain yourself.

Downtown Ames is the most depressed small town setting I have ever been in. The huge coal power plant rising up a block away casts a creepy shadow on the deserted streets. The people are friendly, the state school is unremarkable, and there are some pretty neighborhoods. Overall it's a place I hope never to visit again.

Everything was layed out perfectly. I could see myself settling down here and raising a family. You dont even have to lock your doors, its that safe!!
