Many of the shops in Shipshewana are not operated by Amish and are selling imported items that people buy thinking they are Amish made. They hire Amish women and teenagers to work in the shops and people are fooled into thinking they are buying Amish goods. My wife sold arts and crafts, ect. a few years ago and we recognized the many items sold by ...
My wife and I visited Shipshewana this weekend and were looking forward to our return to Amish Country. Our last trip was to Wakarusa for their Maple Syrup Festival.

How to suvive the flea market! Wear tennis shoes ...no open toe shoes, no shade.... so wear something cool, bring a visor. sunglasses and a bag on wheels. Where to stay? Love the B&B with Dave and Gail Hodges......they are the best! You have to have a JOJO's pretzel before you leave town. The Blue Gate Theater has great shows for the family! Don't forget to shop the bulk grocery store in town. I love Shipshewana!
