I was almost forced to move here to do some family issues, and I would like nothing more to move out if I could afford to right now. There is only one club everyone goes to, the food is average with any other town or city, no means of transportation, you can only go by car, I think I saw one taxi for the past 3 years I have lived here, everyone is ...

A Perfectly Nice City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/07
Ah, Fort Wayne! When I tell people I'm from Fort Wayne and try to explain why I like it, they tend to look at me with a "Chyyyeah, right" expression. No one seems to quite get it. Many people haven't even heard of it!
Simply put, it's -- generally-- a charming, Midwestern city that -- for its size-- is difficult to beat. ...

Nice City!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/06
Wow! What misperceptions of Fort Wayne. I've been to many differents cities and I must say that Fort Wayne rates among the best. Many places to dine, many places to have a good time, especially if you like to drink!, The sporting events are great. Yes they are Minor League, but are still very fun to attend. The zoo is nice, wide variety of ...

A "Real" review of Fort Wayne.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/06
It amazes me how one visits a town for a couple days and thinks they know everything about it. I lived in Fort Wayne for 21 years of my life. I have also lived in 3 other cities. (i move alot due to my nature of work). I have lived down in south florida, trenton, NJ, and northern cali. First of all, south Florida has the worst customers service ...
The newly expanded Memorial Coliseum is consistently on the top 10 venues in the country for sports and concerts. _____________________________________________
False, it's hard to attract/persuade popular musical artists to book popular concerts in that facility. I viewed the www and the Coliseum isn't even listed in the top 20. As ...

All the good stuff is hidden

I completely understand where almost all of these reviews are coming from. Fort Wayne would appear to have no culture, fine dining, attractions, or intellect on the surface. It took me 3 years of living here to appreciate it. It isn't all fast food there are some fabulous restaurants that are not chains such as Catablu, Chappells, ...
Fort Wayne is a GREAT PLACE TO LIVE and VISIT!!! I love how someone stops one night and "knows" the entire city. Then they compare Fort Wayne to Chicago or New York. Hellooooo people. If you put two apples and an orange on the table, you don't wonder why the orange is not red do you. Talk about uneducated. You obviously do NOT ...

GIVE IT A REST
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/06
ENOUGH of all the crying about how Ft Wayne and included restaurants are lacking the culture and class of the big cities. This is Northern Indiana. Last time I checked the cities marketing slogan wasn't "Ft Wayne...just like Manhattan, only smaller." If you want big city taste and culture then stop looking for it in Ft Wayne. Enjoy ...

Grew Up in Fort Wayne, Left, and Will Never Return!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/06
I grew up in Fort Wayne and moved as soon as I could. The city is bland, filled with self-important, intolerant, and ignornant people who think that anywhere beyond a three-hour drive is foreign (and therefore bad). My parents were asked why their children decided to leave the state to go to Ivy League schools, when the local community college was just as good. Enough said.
It seems that the people who have lived there for most of their life are quite fond of the place. Unfortunately anyone who has lived anywhere a little bit larger with a little more culture finds it mind numbing.
Boasting the most restaurants per capita, it is the restaurant capital of the world, or at least the US. If only some of those places ...
