i love their Meadowbrook Pairie. it is perfect to go walking, jogging, or running. any time you go is fine. durring spring the parks a beautiful. during summer the city is alive. fall has the best musicals. and winter is pearfect for shopping.
Its interesting to see how a small size town can be the home to a top ten university. Yet Champaing-Urbana is the main locale of the Univeristy of Illinois. U of I campus in central Illinois is classic colonial, architecturally. The red brick and white towers blend into the corn fields and soy bean pastures that otherwise surround the praire ...
I live in Chicago, Illinois and make a point to visit Champaign every chance I get (twice a month, even in the winter). It is now my home away from home.
Why? Since I am a city girl, I have to have the major centers close by like: Walmart, SAMS, and restuarants. I have never felt threatened in Champaign while I shopped and I do not see beggars ...

I enjoyed Champaign, Illinois becuase of its unique atmosphere in terms of sports events and eating establishments. Visiting the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana Campus and the sights in town make the trek worthwhile. Some people would the town has nothing to offer: I beg to differ strenuously. One visit to the town will make anyone ...

The twin cities of Champaign and Urbana, are home to the U. of Illinois. The cultural diversity is very much evident and you get an unique opportunity to mingle with students from various geographical locations. To go with the diversity, you have a wide variety of cuisines to choose from. Tang Dynasty is a very good chinese place to eat from. Kamakura is a good choice for Japanese food

An up and coming place

Champaign is truly one of the hot new cities in the US. Lots of high-tech and bioscience research and business coupled with a young, educated climate put this hot prairie city on par with Austin and Seattle!

Diamond in the Rough

"Subpar" too harsh for you? Try checking out the "newly renovated" children's museum downtown and see what I mean. Other than that, we were pleased to spend a week here working, playing and shopping in Summer, 2004. Champaign, downtown at least, is on its way to achieving that cosmopolitan ambience so many college towns try ...

Lots to offer
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/27/05
Lots of quality performing arts. Good local restaurants. Lots of nightlife with a great variety. Too many chain restaurants, not enough local flavor. But that means there is a lot to choose from foodwise. Great sports facilities, easily accessed (both ingress and egress). Close to E/W and N/S interstates. Well educated populace. It can't decide whether it wants to be a "big" small town, or a burgeoning metroplex.
