I like the small town atmosphere, art galleries, theater, music venues, outdoor sports activities. Great place to raise my family.

Dislike - the traffic and congestion. Very difficult to get around. Lack of grocery stores, none available south of town and only one in Sandpoint, one in Ponderay - just about 5 miles north of Sandpoint.

Sanpoint is tiny mountain town on an incredibly beautiful lake. The best ski mountain in the area is perched right next to the lake, making this a summer and winter destination. Everyone we have encountered in Sandpoint has been very friendly and helpful. The ambience of the town is wonderful. Shopping in the town is so much fun. You can walk everywhere and window shop or browse all of the businesses in the downtown area in an afternoon. Don't forget to go out of the downtown area to see other available entertainment.

You know that a town is dying when high school graduates "graduate" from the town they grew up in. In Sandpoint, there is a large teen population as well as a large adult population.
