  • Awesome place to live!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/05
I like the small town atmosphere, art galleries, theater, music venues, outdoor sports activities. Great place to raise my family.

Dislike - the traffic and congestion. Very difficult to get around. Lack of grocery stores, none available south of town and only one in Sandpoint, one in Ponderay - just about 5 miles north of Sandpoint.

  • I Love this place!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/05
Sandpoint is my hometown, I went through all 12 grades in this place, living in Kootanei about 5 miles from town. This is in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Much effort has been by the locals to make this a place you want to visit and spend your money in. I love the summers and the fall and wish I could spent every summer there. ...

  • Sandpoint is growing
    By Mike, 06/30/05
Sanpoint is tiny mountain town on an incredibly beautiful lake. The best ski mountain in the area is perched right next to the lake, making this a summer and winter destination. Contrary to what others think, the area is growing rapidly. The fastest growing city in Idaho as of June 2005 was Dover which is an even tinier town next to Sandpoint. ...

  • I hope sandpoint will change
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/05
I grew up in clark fork but depended on Sandpoint for work and a future. I ended up leaving for 5 years because there was no future in the area. I have recently returned and noticed that Sandpoint has changed but only in size and competition amongst each other. I do see that the city is a little cleaner and that they have made improvements to ...

  • A Friendly Place to Visit
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/05
Everyone we have encountered in Sandpoint has been very friendly and helpful. The ambience of the town is wonderful. Shopping in the town is so much fun. You can walk everywhere and window shop or browse all of the businesses in the downtown area in an afternoon. Don't forget to go out of the downtown area to see other available entertainment.

  • Where are all the young adults?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/05
You know that a town is dying when high school graduates "graduate" from the town they grew up in. In Sandpoint, there is a large teen population as well as a large adult population. But all the young college aged adults are gone. Sad as it is, Sandpoint Idaho is dying. And it really is a shame because it truly is beautiful. It's ...
