The first day we flew was kick back, but otherwise I saw the sunset at Haleakala, which was FREEZING to the point the ears hurt. Then we hiked on the the sliding sands trail, which was tiring and I recommend having calories in you. We went to Hana, which was fun of course. We went to Lahaina, and the Maui Ocean Center. Great stuff to do on the island. But for the road trip to Hana, if you get carsick, be sure to do the trip in a convertible.

I was stationed on Oahu Hawaii for 4 plus years in the Air Force and loved every minute of it. However, I preferred the other islands over Oahu. Approx 90% of the island chains population are on Oahu. Too crowded and too many tourists.

The flowers alone would be enough to go there to see not counting the beaches.

Price Maui is the best place to stay, it is 1 mile down form the "grouping" of other resorts and the mall. The beach is the nicest on that side, except for the black sand beaches! Everything was perfect. The great people, the food, the serenity, Wailea is perfect especially for honeymooners. I loved everything about Wailea-except the 12 hour trip to get there from NYC. But its well worth it!
