On this meticulous brisk New England day I gaze outside my office window and the thing that pops into my mine is Poipu Beach. There is a great little place to get lunch and rent surfboards/body boards/snorkel equipment (what every your poison) right there at the beach. There are little kids splashing in the water newly weds strolling around on ...

Well, Poipu is the dryest spot on Kauai. At Kauai, it is like to rain every day. But event the rainest day, you will have some dry time at Poipu. If you have kids, it is better to stay at Poipu since you may spend lots of time on beach. One problem with Poipu is it is very hard to find a good place to eat. I mean ecnomic place. If you stay there, prepare to cook unless you plan to spend $100 on dinner every day for 4 persons.

The calming, peaceful paradise on this island makes us want to live there! This is the most beautiful piece of land we've ever seen! If we could move there, we would!!

The Grand Hyatt right on Poipu beach has EVERYTHING your romantic little heart can desire... went there on our honeymoon... was so great, even though i'm now divorced, i'd go back in a heartbeat! :) Also one of the most fabulous places for snorkeling - even if you can't swim!

I have been to Poipu Beach many times and I always love going back to it. It is a small beach with exquisite Hawaiian sky views. It is perfect for families, adults, singles, everyone.

The last time I was there I noticed how happy everyone there was--enjoying the sun, the water, and their friends and family.

I recommend you go--it is a very special place.

I have stayed in Kauai many times and Poipu is my favorite area. Not far from the airport but far enough to avoid the traffic. Many times you can go to the shore here and see many turtles that play in the waves. If you're looking for a retreat but still want to be close to civilization this is the best place.
