There is not enough room on this page to tell you the great things about Maui and Kihei. I've vacationed there three times and have worked on two occasions for 3 months each.

Excellent beaches never crowded and tons of local entertainment.
A great place to avoid crowds and blend in with them.
I always recommend Charlie Young Beach as a place to hear the whale songs!

Kihei is very nice. It is in a very quiet, low-key location on Maui about 45 minutes from all the big resorts in Lahaina and Kaananapali.
