I would not recommend Tybee Island to anyone. We rented a house for a week near the Crab Shack with 6 of our friends and their children and it was a big mistake. The neighbors hate tourists. They yelled and threatended to call the police because a few of us and the children were playing in the pool after dark. Never drive through residental ...

I'm about 5 minutes from Tybee going from my dock, and about 15 minutes away from house. It's a nice place, real good for tourists. They're everywhere, and it's really cool to see all the different people in one spot. There's the 3rd of july there (day before the 4th), where fireworks are shot from the beach or the pier, ...

Winter Fun...

This is one of my favorite places. No high rise condos spoiling the atmosphere. If you love the laid back feel of old times, then by all means visit here. They have lots of great food. We enjoyed walking, fishing off the pier, and visiting the lighthouse. Next time we come we will bring our bikes. This was in the off season (December) not sure how it is other times, but I'm looking forward to finding out!

i adored tybee! i went in early summer, and it was quiet, and slower paced than going to PCB or Gulf Shores. perfect for a weekend get-a-way from atlanta. the beaches weren't too crowded, there are a number of local places to eat, a great tourist center, and many vacation rentals available.

We rented a condo on the south end of Tybee near the pier. What a mistake. the condo we rented was very nice inside but they took pictures to make it look as if it is on the beach(even described as beachfront) but in reality you have to walk across a street, a 250 car public parking lot and then down a sidewalk to a footbridge. The streets were ...
A more perfect day couldn't have been had by my family and me. We spent the entire day on the beach. Playing in the sand, swimming, walking along the beach and looking for shells. The weather coudldn't have been more perfect; not to hot, not to cool and the breeze blew nicely to keep us from getting to overheated. Lunch on the beach ...

It is next to impossible to cancel a reservation with this bed & breakfast. I have been trying for a full week now to contact them for a confirmation on a cancellation due to a family medical emergency and have yet to receive a reply to all my messages, emails or page. All I can say is that they better not charge me (which I believe that they ...

We all hated to leave!!
By graf_sherry, 07/20/06
The atmosphere on Tybee Island is so beautiful. My daughters and I were playing in the ocean and I couldn't believe it but there were dolphins swimming maybe 20 feet from where we were. It was absolutely wonderful! The dolphins would swim up and down the shoreline and seemed to be having as good a time as we were!
We can't wait to go back!!

tourist haters or what?
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/30/06
I spent my honeymoon, my first anniversary, my 3rd anniversery with my infant sons first trip to a beach and most recently my first full family vacation with my wife and children at Tybee Island. This latest trip will be my last. It was as though the town decided it hated tourists. Most everyone I dealt with was rude. Mostly around the Pier area ...
