Some of the beaches are nice, except for Casperson's(gay man thong beach), it's very old people-y. Sarasota is a better place to visit. Sharky's is kinda nice...and OLD.

Nice beaches, and relatively easy to find parking. Definitely a retiree town. I was here in March, didn't notice many college kids around. Lot of seniors, and a few families with younger kids, which is where I fit.

Lots of space on the beach, and seemed to be a safe place to hang out.

If you want to party and meet singles, probably not ...
