Gainesville is a hidden gem often called a big little small town because of warmth and southern hospitality consistantly displayed by the people who've made Gainesville home. The saying must be true "the warmer the weather the warmer the people". I came for the schools and stayed because I loved it. University avenue has every type of ...
While different parts of the city are in various states of development there are still some really good locally owned restuarants. One of my favorite places is the Wine and Cheese Gallery on main street. Any real local has probably heard of or ate at the Gallery. The owners work in the store as consultants and sometimes waiters. The food is ...

There is a fair mix of age range, but it could be a little annoying for older people who want peace and quiet. The city has great facilities and community programs ...
The University of Florida affords this area with a multitude of sport and performing arts events on any given day. The night life is electric... Traffic around Gainesville is terrible at times but the summers are lighter. For a town of its size the road system is in need of modernization and expansion.

I find Gainesville a friendly place. It doesn't matter what's your background. It's a safe place to live or visit.
Gainesville is a wonderful, quaint city with an excellent university. There is good shopping and a lot to do! Also, there are many natural springs and trees in the area.
