The approach to the town is absolutely breathtaking! On top of the mountains at an elevation of 9200 feet. Was in it's hay-day a goldmining town. The various businesses located on the main street have been converted into casinos with much of the decor restored to the original - it is like walking into an old saloon. We go to Cripple Creek at least once a year. The climate is awesome, the city is beautiful, and there so many casinos to pick and choose from plus gift shops as well. Everytime we have gone to Cripple Creek, the people have been very very nice to us. It is nice clean mountain air. As far as dislikes, well when we have tried to play some coin ...

I'm 22 years-old and last year I went to Cripple Creek. Every time I stepped into a casino I was asked for my ID and they would stamp my hand. Even though I had these stamps I was still being asked for my ID. I went to Las Vegas the same year and I was not hounded like I was in Cripple Creek. I wish that they wouldn't do that and maybe I would give them a better score.
Everything about the trip thorough the mountains to Cripple Creek to the town site its self was a great experience. I like the old feel of the town, the activities and history....to the quitness of the sleepy little town. It was a wonderful trip. Will do this everytime I am close enough to come.
