A summer trip from Glendora, California to Central City was a great experience in many ways. Once we arrived at Central City (back then through the very tiny town of Black Hawk which basically consisted of a General Store/Post Office on left and Gas Station on right - if memory serves me correct).

When I lived in Denver, Colorado, my mother took my sister and I to Central City, Co., which is considered an Old Ghost Town!:) Neat! It really was so cool, the old wooden stores, and walkways, and there's even a train that goes through the town. I remember going into an old west candy shop, and bought the best saltwater taphy I had ever had. This is a fun adventuous place for children and family.
