Truckee is a great mountain town both in the summer and winter. It is very easy to access with I-80 running right through town, only about 35 minutes from Reno's airport. It has a number of hotels and restraurants. Downtown (see picture) is fun, and you are only about 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe. Our family goes to Truckee 2 or 3 times a year for a ski vacation in the winter or fall vacation to hike. We are never disappointed.
