I lived in Sac for ten years in the 90s and will be going back next year to be close to my dearest friends again. I lived downtown and loved it. Sac is close to everything and is a great size for a city. Crime rate could be better as I had a couple of car break-ins when I lived there, as did my visiting friends, but other than that I love Sac. Old Sac is special and always will be. Visit and I think you'll be surprised!!

This place was fantastic. So many trees. The airport was so mellow and I was shocked when I saw the baggage scuptures but it's way far out of town, about a 20 minute trip. Sacto is like a city that can't get away from the gold rush days and it's farming background. It has an old west, chapped, black locomotive steam, river paddleboat, ...

Arrived @ Sacramento - Our Rental Car was Excellent - $650 for 3 full weeks! Great Deal.

Flight was great coming to Sacramento - going back - Alaska Airlines had problems with the airplane - took us 2 extra days to get home. They paid for our meals in Sacramento - put us in a hotel with meals in Seattle - and we got home safely.

I vacationed here last year and didn't feel safe. I am not sure what part of Sacramento my hotel was located in but it was so unsafe that there were bars on vending machines and signs in a shopping center parking lot warning customers to lock their cars. I thought the area was dirty..river is dirty in old sac, there was a dead cockroach in my hotel room...the people were not that friendly.

I'VE LIVED HERE MY ENTIRE LIFE, WHICH IS A LONG TIME, AND LOVE IT HERE. SURE, ALL PLACES HAVE SOME DRAWBACK OR ANOTHER BUT OVERALL THE ADVANTAGES TO THIS CENTRALLY LOCATED CITY/COUNTY IS COUNTLESS. I ENCOURAGE ALL TO COME VISIT AND SEE FOR YOURSELVES WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE IT IS HERE AND ENJOY ALL SACRAMENTO AND IT'S OUTLYING COMMUNITIES ...

some of these people are crazy. the traffic's not bad, as far as cali's concerned it's affordable. yes it has crime but much lower crime then the bay area. it's like any city some people are friendly some aren't i don't get the people saying everyone was full of themselves based on their driving. i liked it enough to move there. slightly lacking of culture and downtown activity but that'll change as it gets bigger.
