We arrived around 8:30pm. After unloading the car and settling in, we headed to Main St. We didn't expect everything to be closed so early. I think most shops close at sundown and restaurants around 8pm we later found out. Town shops and food places open around 9:30-10am. Had a nice breakfast at Miners Diner. Apple pies are sold everywhere ...

Great Motorcycle Stop
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/06
This was one of my favorite motorcycle destinations when living in San Diego. The town is best described as "quaint," but there's still plenty of stuff to do. I think it's actually an old gold mining town. It almost burned down a couple years ago when Southern California was plagued by wildfires, but they managed to contain the ...

Black Oak Cabin
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/05
This charming one bedroom cabin (also has sofabed to accommodate up to four) is everything the website says it is and more! http://www.blackoakcabin.com Quality furnishings, delightful property, and just minutes from downtown Julian. Owners Dawn and Ed have attended to every detail in order to provide a wonderful, relaxing place for their guests. The only problem was that we could only stay one night. Go! Stay! You will love it!
We have visited Julian numerous occasions and have eaten at the Julian Grill - we have found their food is excellent and at a fair price, the atomosphere is great, we love the outdoor seating, as well as the cozy indoor dining room. We have found the hostess and wait staff to be above average. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the beautiful little village of Julian, Ca.

Black Oak Cabin part of Butterfiled Bed & Breakfast
Just spent our 25th wedding anniversary @ Black Oak Cabin which is run by Butterfield Bed and Breakfast in Julian, California. The cabin is a one bedroom with living/dining room, kitchen and bath. Very rustic and charming! No air but don't think it would be needed much since located at approx. 4200 ft. Even had wild turkeys walking across ...
I live in San Diego, and it's a long Drive! Also the car ride is very twisty- turny through the mountains. Otherwise, it is a charming little town with snow in the winter, and great desert views.

Wonderful little town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/05/05
Loved the cool fresh air. Felt like I was back home in Alaska. The shops were all locking up at 5pm.......on a Saturday. We were just getting started. Frightening drive back to San Diego....rainy and dark.
