Unless you are in the frame of mind to enjoy quiet times, secluded areas, shopping malls, worthless parks, and lots (I mean lots) of movies year round, this place is for you. Fresno is a hick town in a very large scale, with many similar corners, streets, and avenues that just continually repeats itself in schools, car lots, hamburger joints, pizza ...
First off I will be honest about the city of Fresno, I hope no one thinks I am just being negative as many of my Fresnan friends say... I have lived here a year and a half - only because I found a good job and an awesome relationship or I would pack and leave at the first opportunity. I have lived in many places up and down the west coast and by ...

Few good restaurants, tourist attractions. The Tower District, which was recommended to us, is seedy and run-down. Crime is a problem as the city seems gang-infested. Very poor as Cal. cities go, most neighborhoods adjacent to downtown are falling apart. If the best some people can say is that it's cheaper than other cities, or that it's ...
A lot of people don't know, but Fresno is host to one of the best events. Every first Thursday of the month artist get the oportunity to display their art. Galleries, museums and other businesses are open free of charge. Art Hop is available 5p.m.-9p.m. This is a great oportunity to interact with others and appreciate the art.

Boring downtown

There is only 2 reasons why you should come to Fresno - (i)gateway to Yosemite; and (ii) quick stopover during your drive from LA to San Francisco or vice versa using the I-5. Apart from that, this is just another mid-size American city with an absolutely boring downtown.

Used to live there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/05
I basically grew up there and during that time it seemed alright, however the growth was immense. I was there from 1970 to 1991 and decided I'd had too much of what I call the "me" attitude, mind you not everyone has that, but an apparent majority did.
What I disliked was the traffic, smog, extreme heat, Tule fog season and lack of ...
I think Fresno is one of the best medium-sized cities in the country. You can ski in the Sierras in the morning and surf on the Pacific Ocean in the afternoon. The weather is better than anywhere else in the nation: mild and dry year round. It is not uncommon to have an entire month go by without seeing a cloud in the sky. There are too many things to do in Fresno to list in this review.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/05
I have been to Fresno for 2 16 week periods during the winters and will do again this winter. Parks are great for walking biking or skating. Everything is within 2 hour drive...View is different than the corn fields of Illinois!!! Tons of places to eat...you name your menu.........See you there!

Friendly People!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/01/05
Love friendly Fresno's small town feel with big city amenities. Be careful though about the summer weather - need to stay indoors i those hot, smogy summer afternoons. Fresno has the Metropolitian Museum and the Fresno Art Gallery for culture buffs, lots of movies and shopping for the average joe and water parks on both ends of town for the ...
It's a big town with a small town atmosphere. And small town pricing. There is always plenty to do whether it's attending a fresno state game or enjoying the night life you are guareenteed to have fun.
